As this blog is all about finding, buying and then running a gite we thought it best to show you a little something about our gite.
Our Gite in Brittany is a really pretty traditional stone house, with an attached barn. It is located in a small hamlet of around 15 houses on the edge of a forest, about 15 minutes from Dinan. It is really peaceful and you can just sit back and relax in the gardens.
Inside the Gite the downstairs is all open plan, with a large kitchen / diner and living room. It has a traditional Breton fireplace with wood burning stove, so it mixes the practical space needed for a family holiday with some real character.
Upstairs there is even more character, with dark wood flooring and wooden beamed ceilings and two really spacious bedrooms.
The house has gardens to the front and rear and there is also a large stretch of land attached to the front garden, for when we want to really tire the children out. That is why one of our first purchases was a 12ft Trampoline so we could make sure that all that energy was used up!
The neighbours are really nice and have been really kind to us, giving us a large bowl of grass seed when we filled in the large pond in the front garden (to keep the children safe) and lending us a wheelbarrow to move the large mound of stones from the back garden to the pond. All of our guests have also commented on how friendly they have been, taking the children to see their rabbits, which is fantastic and makes a real difference.
Although it’s in a really peaceful location it’s only 15 minutes from Dinan and Jugon les Lacs and just over 30 minutes from the beautiful Emerald Coast, with it’s amazing beaches.
There’s lots of things for the kids to do as well, not just at the gite. Apart from the beaches to keep them entertained, there’s the zoo at La Bourbansais, a fantastic adventure land at Cobac Park and the impressive
Grand Aquarium at St.Malo, which has the most amazing shark tank.
Well that’s a little overview of our gite, if you would like anymore information please take a look at our website (2 Bedroom Gite near Dinan in Brittany, France), it has lots more details
